RE: Missed deer.....is broad head still good???
What brand is it?
Make sure it still spins true. If it is a fixed head and has replaceable blades then just swith them out and you' ll be find. If it is a mechanical with an aluminum body, inspect it closely because it' s probably toast. If your unsure of it' s integrity, put it away as a practice head only. Those are my 2 cents. |
RE: Missed deer.....is broad head still good???
The broadhead might be good but the blades are history. Never use the blades twice unless you either sharpen them or replace them.
Like DaveC mentioned, spin test the head, inspect it for flaws..if it' s okay, change the blades are get back out there. |
RE: Missed deer.....is broad head still good???
I would say if you have 12 to retire it to a practice head and use one of the others, that is if they are the same type and grain as the one you missed with. Good Luck

Rob couldn' t have said it better, you would hate to miss
the chance of a life time for a $5 - $10 broadhead. |
RE: Missed deer.....is broad head still good???
Take that broadhead to the range and get some practice hitting a target.:)

Not me I retire them

I would say use it for a practice arrow.

Definitely retire that baby! If you' ve got a dozen more, it wouldn' t be worth it to miss w/ that one when you' ve got plenty of perfectly good heads ready to go to work.
