Yikes do not have a clue glad you took him out of the population!
I am not sure if I would eat that till I knew what it was maybe donate the meat to a local zoo for predator food!

Like one of the posters in the other thread said, it is what I've heard called a Cactus Buck. I've seen one mounted before that was about 20" tall and a foot wide with a bunch of kickers.

From an article on a Cactus Buck killed last year:

A cactus buck is a deer that has a condition called cryptorchidism, which results in velvet remaining on antlers and continuing to grow throughout the year. The condition generally occurs to bucks that have irregular testicles or have incurred testicular damage, which impacts testosterone levels. Testosterone regulates antler growth and development.

WOW!! He looks pretty gray in the face and neck also.. It Looks like some sort of fungus to me.. Like a fungus got into the Velvet or something.. Maybe even in his blood stream. Maybe thats why he looks gray in the face and neck too.. IDK

I recall seeing a pic of a very large buck just like that one, I think it was called "The Barnacle Buck". It might have even been in North American Whitetail magazine.

Too much deer cain?:confused0024:
Looks to be mineralization of some sort. Maybe a defect that doesn't allow minerals to be processed.

yeah we've taken it to the dnr and they havent seen anything like it. he barely has any bottom teeth at all, and the top ones are very soft.. they had no idea what it was but they said its probably a good idea not to eat him. and i dont have the money to mount the sucker right now which is why im hoping someone would be interested in buying him off me. thanks for the input dudes
