Bow hunting from a treestand.
I was wondering on what advice you all have for shooting a bow from a treestand. How to shot where to aim or anything would help.

im 15 feet up and where i aim is where i hit. shoot from your stand just to be sure
|
use your hips and lean into the shot from a tree stand. If you just move your bow, you will miss your target.

safety harness. then go try it

bend at the waist when you shoot for your treestand.
|
Yup. bend at the waist, do not aim by just moving your bow arm. If you do that, you will shoot high. You should definitely practice a few shots from an elevated platform to see for yourself. Good luck!

Practice from tree stand height, whether it's from your stand or some other platform. Also, when hanging your stands pay close attention to where any limbs may be that could get in your way when drawing back.

You can use being tethered to the tree to your advantage to get your body in odd positions to make shots. |
I try to aim a little lower than I would shooting from level ground especially if the angle is steep. I bend at the waist and when bow hunting I won't wear a coverall because that tends to inhibit my bend. When bowhunting I wear pants and a jacket to get that seperation.

Before you see any deer, practice every scenario you know to ensure that the tree stand is solid, and will not creek. Your bow will not bump anything, etc. If it does..... Yer busted!
