Same buck,or same gene pool

Night time shot is from the other day.Daytime picture is from last season.I'm still trying to determine if it is the same deer,or just from the same gene pool.If it is the same buck,it looks like it may have lost some size this year. There are enough similarities in the racks to really make me wonder if it is the same deer or not.

lonewolf1990 09-18-2012 03:33 PM

Adkhunter831 09-18-2012 04:55 PM

Looks very similar. Looks like his g2 and g3s have grown but lost some on his brows. Stick him with a arrow!

foxfire66 09-18-2012 06:20 PM

doetrain 09-19-2012 09:59 AM

Different Bucks for sure but as has been said it looks like from the same gene pool. Nice Bucks, great house, nice situation.

kateraxl2381 09-19-2012 10:29 AM

Definitely not the same bucks, but they do look similar enough to be from the same gene pool.

wallhangr 09-19-2012 12:59 PM

Yea, there's no way he got younger - same pool.

furgitter 09-20-2012 05:35 AM

Shoot them all and put them together for a family Photo! LOL, Just kidding, in Lacrosse I was doing some work for a guy, and saw a monster in his back yard. No less than 16 point and tall and wide! It took my breath away, and the guy offered me to shoot it withmy bow. I did think about it, but had to decline. That deer probably has 20 names from 20 differant people down the block. Bird feeder bucks wouldnt taste any differant to me, but too many broken hearts down the way.

cajote2 09-24-2012 09:51 AM

Looks like the same deer but the day time looks taller... Same exact brow tines

They look to be different bucks but probably the same father.

Rutt, you live in Northern Illinois? Looks like a style of house around me.

Come to Illinois and see what goes on here with our political system!

I have a couple urban spots that look close to that. I worry a little about trespasers but its within a 30 min drive of where I live in downtown Chicago so I can't complain. We also have a few decent bucks since no one really hunts my area.

Wilcam47 01-12-2013 09:08 AM

Hard to tell off one pic of each...night time photos change the look a little....it does look like the same genes if not the same buck. look at the spot on his nose it almost looks like its there on the night photo...Just my opinion..

DeppedyDogg 01-12-2013 09:19 AM

Looks

Looks like the same buck to me. Curves in his brow tines are too similar.

PalmettoKid 01-12-2013 03:36 PM
