Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Hey guys,
Today I decided to check the Stealth cam that is in my woods early. Well, I went down and it was full, but, the camera was knocked to the base of the tree and turned to the backside of the tree. I thought that was odd, and the first thing that came to mind was someone trying to steal the camera. I took the camera out and brought it home. I got the film and headed to Rite-Aid to get it developed. An hour went by and I went back to get the film and the kid at the counter asked me if he could hunt on my land! That got me pretty pumped to see what was on the film. Well.......... Notice the small tree in the center of this picture, it is important for the next picture. Also, notice the antler coloration! Now look at this picture at the antler color and that same small tree.... Now, here are three pictures of the big non-typical 12 point, he is almost a 12 point on his left G-2 (right antler when we are looking at it), he has a little bump there. He isn' t the biggest deer I have seen this year, not by a long shot, but I love the shape and look of these antlers so this is the buck I am after now, atleast until I see what is in the area that my other camera is set at!!! |

Buckmagnet, your cam has been hot this year!! How many different bucks have you gotten this year? What would you say the average time of the pic was? Thanks for the entertainment.

RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Thanks guys,
I have gotten 24 different bucks on camera this year. That is from 5 different set-ups. Tommorow I will be checking the 6th set-up and hopefully will add some more numbers to how many different bucks I have seen this year. Most of the pictures are taken around 5:30-6:00 A.M. or 11:00-12:00 P.M. It is amazing to see some of the times thought. I have pictures from pretty much every hour of the day. Heck, look at the difference in just the pics of that non-typical 12. The bottom three pics are of him.... 9:32 A.M. 11:50 P.M. 4:02 A.M. |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!

RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Nice deer Jason, You really have some good lookin deer out there!
Not sure I' d call that 12 a " Non-Typical" tho.........Just a sweet main-frame 10 with matching stickers off his G2' s? he' s definitely a " Typical" frame. Now shoot his butt this season so we can get a better look.:D |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Awesome pics, wish you luck harvesting him
|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Hey Matt,
Well, you call him a main frame 10 with stickers and I will call him a non-typical 12 :D Always trying to ruin my glory:D Seriously though, thanks. I am just waitin to catch a absolute monster one of these times. The antler restrictions seemed to have helped, and that was only one year. Who knows, in a few years, I may be posting pics of 190" deer :D |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Hey Bud, If you need help " Managing" those bucks, give me an E-mail.:D
All eyes on you this season! If you don' t score on one of the many nice bucks we' ve been shown, Your in for it!:) |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!

|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
nice bucks! im really getting pumped about this season....PA looks like its getting better deer already.....normally your film would have spikes and 4pts and a bunch of basket racks...youve shown some nice deer....i cant wait...and i agree with matt...not really a non-typical...but a heck of a nice buck anyone would be proud to tag in PA not on a game farm! heck...all im looking for this year is something like the first 2 pics!! believe it or not that would get me some major bragging rights in school...you know how highschool was....everyone shoots a doe or little buck and the only 8pt basket rack is one of the biggest.....i shot a long beard this year with a 8.75 inch beard and i had the biggest bird....i cant wait....nice pics keep em coming! good luck on tagging one of them guys!
|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Wow, nice bucks. Bet you can' t wait for season to roll around!
Good Luck! |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
You guys may think I' m crazy...but I think the impressive one in those pics is that little guy in the last pic. He' s got an awesome frame. Give him a couple of years he' ll be something else! Oh, the other deer is nice too! You got a great morning spot.

RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Nice looking bucks, I hope to see your pic here posted with nothing less than one of those better bucks. ;)
I checked my camera for the first time tonight...funny you mentioned it was moved, so was mine. I had to wedge a stick in the back to get it to angle right, well, the camera was slid to the side and pointed down...it did have 9 pics on it so I pulled it. It probably was moved by a bear or raccoon...the camera was on an apple tree in the middle of a food plot, hopefully the camera will give the culprit away... I moved it to another location in my honey hole spot on a trail beat down to dirt....let' s hope...I' m going back this weekend to collect it and develope the pics and renew the film. Umm...I hope you are not baiting them to the camera site, it' s illegal within 30 days of the season...in case you were unaware.... |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Those are some nice bucks. Hope you are able to harvest one this season!! Be sure to keep us posted!!!
|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Whew! That bucks a dandy! Looks like a 3 1/2 year old, but he might be 2 1/2. Just shows what giving a deer a year or two to grow will do. Good luck on killing him, but if you dont, imagine the pics you' ll be posting next year!! :D

RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Thanks again guys.
It seems as though the antler restrictions are working. There has always been a good amount of nice bucks around here, but, it just seems as though the overall number of bucks has gone up. I was out spotting tonight and saw 9 different bucks, and that was only on half of the normal route! mauser06, I have my fingers crossed for you this year buddy. You have some of the most enthusiasim for this sport and I really hope you get a big buck this year. Not too many younger guys are willing to put in the time you do, and don' t worry, you will benefit from it. Keep it up, as each year you do, you will see bigger and better bucks. Rob, Hurry up and get those pics done!!!!!! :D I wanna see what the other PA boys are looking forward to this year. I wish Frank would start showing his butt in here more often and maybe tell us how his camera is doin!!!!! :D If you had bear tracks around your cam, it was probablly a bear that moved it. I know my pics of a black bear from my game camera last year are some of my favorite pics. James, The interesting thing about that little 8 point in the bottom pic is that he looks like an offspring of a 8 point that I shot a few years ago. His shape of rack is about the same, plus, it was in the same exact area! They are the bottom right antlers in this picture! ![]() Mantis, Thank you soo much for the offer, but, I think my best friend and I have it covered :D |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
the camera was knocked to the base of the tree and turned to the backside of the tree Nice Pics!! |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
3 step,
While this page was loading I realized that I had forgot to mention that! Raccoons. Yep, those dang things finally found my camera. I have a picture of one one the ground, and another one is hanging on the camera. I got alot of pictures of there tails in front of the camera or just blacked out pictures from them covering the lens. I have the camera set-up in that same area now that I know it wasn' t someone trying to steal the camera. I hooked it onto the tree tightly and wrapped a chain around it pretty tight. Hopefully they won' t be back, and if they are, I don' t think that they will be able to move it. Friday, Sept 19th, I will check that camera (I am gonna leave those woods alone entirely till then) and hopefully I will have some more pics of that 12, maybe his dad or grandad also!!!!!! :D:D:D |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Great pics, nice 12!!
I pulled my second roll last week. More does, no bucks. I was expecting a lot of pig pics because of where I hung it, but was surprised to see a family of does, some mommas and some spotted fawns. The camera had 18 pics on it and I had a hard time getting it to rewind, the low batt light was blinking so I replaced the batteries and then coaxed it into rewinding. Is there a trick to rewindind the film before it rewinds on its own?? (I left the manual in the cabin) |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Hey Dave,
What I normally do is just cover the lens very well, make sure it is entirely covered, Then, I set the camera so once it is activated, it is gonna take the amount of pics I need to finish the roll. Then, wait a few minutes for the camera to go off, and it will automatically rewind. Now, you may be thinking " that sounds like a pain" , well, yes, but, it saves me money. At our Wal-Mart and Rite-Aid, where I get the pics developed, they will charge you full price for a un-finished roll. But, when I set the camera off and it rewinds by itself, they think that there machines messed up and the price goes down. Last time I did this, I got a roll of film developed (single prints), with one hour photo for $4.12 :D |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Thats the trick!!, when you reset the pic # setting, do you have to move the little switch to standby? or just leave it in the on position?
My wal-mart developing today was $1.12 for ~ 12 pics (the rest messed up when the roll was fighting my on rewinding) |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
NICE pics!
|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Wow, nice pics. Definatly a shooter buck. At least in my part of the country.
A little setup advice though. Keep your camera no more than 2 ft. above the ground. You' ll get alot better shots.;):) |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Good looking bucks there, BM! Good luck tagging one of ' em!:D[:-];)

RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!

RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Jason,
I am here every day my friend. ;) I put my camera out last Saturday night and picked it up last Sunday. Same spot as where the big 8 and 10 were " captured" the weekend before. I only received two pics and they were both of a small 4 pointer visiting the same spot. I was excited to know that there are at least 3 different bucks visiting that area. The camera is going out again tonight but I have not decided if I want to put it back at that stand or if I want to put it out on a field that I normally hunting evenings. I will post more pics when I get a chance. Very nice pics though BM. On a related note, how many doe pics are you getting in addition to the buck ones? |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Hey Frank,
I would say that I am getting about 60% buck pics and about 40% doe pics! I have been setting these camera' s up on rub lines from prevoius years that are getting some use this year. It has been working great for me so far! |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Not sure I' d call that 12 a " Non-Typical" tho.........Just a sweet main-frame 10 with matching stickers off his G2' s? he' s definitely a " Typical" frame. |

RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Good Job BM - that crazy-non-typical 12pt :D is a shooter for sure;)
Hope you have a great season - looks like you will.:D[8D] |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Thanks guys,
Thanks Rack, I really appreciate someone who can see the non-typical stuff :D You guys are gonna drool later one when I scan the pictures from the other camera I checked this evening. I got up there and the camera was open with dan raccoon prints on the front. The film and everything was fine. I looked at the counter and it was at 86, yes, 86. That was set at 1 picture every 5 minutes. Plus, if you factore in the fact that the camera finished off a 24 exposure roll of film, and then resents to the counter, that is 110 times it was tripped. Now, that follows the 1 pic every 5 minutes, so, that is 550 minutes that something was in front of the camera. That comes out to over 9 hours, which means that there was over 1-1/2 each of the 6 days that the camera was set up, that something set it off. Only half the roll turned out, as the people at the counter said something was covering up the lens for the other 11 pictures (raccoon). I got a bunch of nice buck pics, but, BOY O BOY did I get a BRUISER of a buck on there. You will just have to see my post later tonight!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
ANTICIPATION....................:D
|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Buckmagnet,
Nice pics! I' m hearing lots of stories coming from my Jersey buddies that hunt PA that the bucks are looking solid this year. Many of these guys would have shot the first buck they saw but all ahd to pass last year. In fact, only one of them scored but now they are seeing what just one year of QDM can do. I just wish Jersey would do some QDM and get rid of the slaughter type seasons that are in place at the moment. By the way--are you still in school?? Good luck. Bob |
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Alright already Magnet how long does it take to scan a picture;)[:o][:-] You can' t just get us all pumped like that then run off:D
|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
Well, I hope to have some more pics to supplement yours soon BM. I put the camera out tonight next to one of my favorite evening spots. It had been torn up pretty well since the last time I visited it back in the beginning of August plus there were several rubs scattered throughout the immediate area. The knee-high grass was also pushed down along a fairly signficant path. I am going to retrieve the camera tomorrow and get the pictures developed later in the afternoon. Wish me luck....:)
|
RE: Stealth Cam Pics>>>>> 12 Point Non-Typical O YEAH!!!!
once again.......Nice pic' s!
