We get some wicked winds up here in Wisconsin too. i get out of the stand if the wind is to strong otherwise the tree next to me will do it for me.:D

I have had that happen but dont know if there where deer around my stand the wind rocks me to sleep:D

I don' t mind a little wind but when it is blowing so hard that the tree is moving so much that a good shot would be impossible its time to get down. That usually only happens when I use my climber [8D] Most of the permanent stands we have I think you could sit through a hurricane if you were so inclined:D I' ve stayed in them in some pretty stiff beezes :D;)

Ah yes, one of the very reasons I hate tree stands unless they are permanent! I do recall though being 30 foot up in a permanent stand during gun season about 20 years ago when a front came through. The wind was blowing so hard I lowered my gun to the ground and held on to one of the trees for about 20 minutes, the second the wind slowed down enough for me to get out of there I was GONE!! Of course being the smart guy I am I was right back in it the next day and killed a nice fat doe!!!!

I HATE WIND. There have been a few times where it drove me out of the tree. Its just not worth it.

How about when the wind blows so hard you don' t sway. You just sit there at an angle cuz the wind is blowing so hard!!

I spend about a week every November huning in south central Kansas, not far from the Oklahoma border and it can get windy, windy, windy! I hate wind more than any other weather inhibiting factor. I hate wind more than rain, snow, sleet, or heat.

let put it this way ,if the tree is swaying that much i not staying up in it !! i once went out during late season archery ,(early january) it snow the night before and it was COLD not to mention the wind wasn' t too bad when i left the house , well when i got to my hunting spot the wind had picked up a bit , i figured what the heck i drove all this way i' ll give it a shot , well after climbing up the tree with a climbing tree stand , and getting settled in the wind was howling by now and being up in that tree was like being on an amusment park ride , iturned around and got the heck outta there before the wind knock me and the tree over! i was there less than a half an hour!

I don' t mind some wind, but when those big gust come rippin over the ridge and about blows me out of the tree I normaly call it a day.

When the wind is blowing hard enough for trees to be coming down I usually head home or do some still hunting verrry carefully hehehehehe.:D
