Silencing the arrow rest
The noise as the arrow pulls back across the rests can be loud and is a particulalrly unatural noise that deer pick up on instantly..
Shrink tubing doesn' t last for very long. The fuzzy style tubing is better and completely quiet, but as the thick fuzz wears down, it actually affects my accuracy.. What are the best solutions out there? On my bows, I have standard rests (Quick Tune and Pro Hunter) Thanks |
RE: Silencing the arrow rest
You may want to try nylon or teflon launchers. I believe that Savage makes some decent ones.
Personally, I just use my normal prongs for practice and when it gets closer to the season, I either dip or brush on some liguid teflon. It doesn' t last very long, but that doesn' t bother me. I just reaply it as needed. Also, make sure your arrows are clean. It makes a difference. |

Or a Muzzy Zerro Effect or any drop away rest for that matter.

RE: Silencing the arrow rest
I just changed to a wb, but I had the same tubing on my old rest for all of hunting season last year, and saw very little signs of wear. I do rotate/twist them about 1/8 to 1/4 turn about once a week. Never saw any adverse effects from doing this and they lasted as long as the rest did for me.

Or a Muzzy Zerro Effect or any drop away rest for that matter. But there is not a drop away made that is silent on the draw - infact almost every rest made is not quite enough for me - most are not even close[:' (] I will be mole skinning my drop zone soon. |
