RE: Sick Deer Pics
i' m from mn and we' ve had lots of concern about cwd here....theres still testing being done... but they don' t really look like they' d have it...they just look skinny.. when a deer gets cwd the coat hangs on teh body and the hair gets really ragged and unhealthy looking...and their skin doesn' t look that bad... and i agree with dave...their ribs do stick out when they' re turning.... |
RE: Sick Deer Pics
Not sure I would eat those deer, they just don' t look healthy

RE: Sick Deer Pics
no, I don' t think I will be eating anything from those woods right now. Even makes me a little creeped out about the one I ate from there last year.

RE: Sick Deer Pics
From what they tell us about CWD that the deer will be thin be acting very aratic and be salivating alot and it' s coat will look terrible hair falling out in clumps. I would call your DNR and have them test some of the deer it means having to kill some of them to do the test on the brain tissue but it' s better to know what' s going on those deer look bad!

RE: Sick Deer Pics
Someone may be poisoning them[X(]
But to be honest - when they transition to their winter coats they can look pretty ragged. usually urban deer have plenty of food this time of year - I can' t see it being starvation, But who knows:) |
RE: Sick Deer Pics
Just a guess on my part, but that fawn looked like it was still trying to nurse. Perhaps that doe is malnurished and being suckeled down as well. She may have twins or even triplets.
