RE: Time to pull the game cams down?
Ill be keeping mine out all season as always, the rut is the best time to get monster bucks on film, especially if you find an active scrape. All summer I may get one roll of film a week, in the fall it jumps to three or four a week.:D

RE: Time to pull the game cams down?
Keep it out!! I kept mine out all fall and winter. During the bow season I moved it from any areas close to stands, but its a perfect time to stick it in strange places you don' t usually hunt (its funny what you learn when you do that!) Its really fun to have it out during the rut, the bucks are moving and searching and you get way more buck photos! Another really fun thing is to put them over scrapes. Everytime I' ve put it on a scrape, I' ve have some interesting buck photos and it doesn' t take long. Mostly night photos on the scrapes. We usually get 25 to 35 scrapes on our property and we don' t specifically hunt them but we do hunt the areas. Move it to areas you don' t hunt alot or at all!
One other thing......if you keep it out during the deer season, make sure you keep your hunting partners informed on where it is. Last season I forgot to tell my buddy where the camera was. He was walking down a trail in the pitch dark(1/2 hour before sunrise) and the flash went off on him......he almost had to get a new set of shorts!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck! |
