Who has seen bucks with droptines?
 

I' m just curious of how many people have or haven' t seen a droptine buck in the wild?

Never in the wild, but man would that be sweet. I just love a big mass/gnarly rack with drop tines!!! Hopefully one of these days.:D

Ive seen two in my life, both on my farm, the first I was only about 14 years old and of course I missed, I dont even think I aimed my gun, that was about 15 years ago. Then last year I got piuctures of a huge buck that I have gotten pics of and seen during the rut for two previous years, last year is the first year he had a droptine, it was about six inches long and grew straight down in front of his right ear. The pics are posted on this forum, but I havent got him on film yet this year. Hopefully soon.

Just once...two years ago during the second week of bow season here in IL. He was about 40 yards away w/ a doe closely behind him. This is also the biggest deer I have ever seen in the wild. I think about him every time I' m in stand. And the question always pops into my mind, " What if?" Oh well, that' s what makes this sport so great!

The buck I' ve been after has one this year. Its only about 3 inches long but its a drop...Maybe this year I' ll get lucky and get him...

I haven' t but last summer my buddy was telling me how it' s always been his dream to take a buck with a drop tine. So he goes on a trip to W. VA and comes back with a nine pointer. 8 nice points and a 5 inch drop tine. It' s on his wall now so I see it every time I go over there.:D

I have seen one. My uncle shot one last gun season. It had a 6" droptine on its right side and you could see where the matching on broke off. That kinda stinks that it broke off.

I have one hanging on my wall from a 1988 bow kill. But the droptine was approximately only about 3" to 4" long before the buck broke it off. Still, it has 1 1/2" showing, not big but it still counts.

I' ve seen two drop tine bulls in my life, one caribou and one moose, both last year.

Nope, unless you count that 11pt I took a couple years back...the 10th and 11th points were about an 1" kickers off the bases.

Sort of, if this counts. I saw a buck once(actually passed up shooting it) that had a fork on one side, and the other was a spike, with a kicker pointed to the front, and a drop tine that came down past his face to the bottom of his jaw. It was a really small bodied deer as well, that we nick named " crack baby" :D

I saw a small buck in velvet last year turkey hunting it had one side that was normal and the other side half of the antler was wrapping around the side of its face. Hard to explain but it was cool.

our neighbors that own the land next to our 750 acre tract are notorius for shooting deer and doing a crappy track job. Two years ago, we found a 13 point 175 typical dead from bow season. Anyway, getting to the point. 3 years ago, I smelled something really dead. So i followed the stink up the logging road a bit and came upon a 2.5 or 3.5 year old buck, a mainframe 10, maybe about 120 class, with a 2.5 droptine off his left main beam. only drop tine i' ve ever seen in the wild.

I saw this Big Boy once in the woods now I see him everyday in my house. Only 25 days left. Seems like an eternity.

I saw one, it was an eleven pointer. Got to see it after my buddy shot it.
