Going Bare Bow

Took all the sights and fancy rest off my bow for hunting this year. I hunted 4 or 5 years before this with all that on and I had a lot of complications over those 4 or 5 years. Now after the first couple of days of shooting with a tab instead of a trigger and aiming my arrow with my eyes instead of a sight it feels a lot better. Im super excited for two reasons one, to challenge myself a little more and also to follow everyone else that I hunt with. Im going to need to put in a lot of practice but im liking it so far and I do not think thats going to change. Just wanted to share my news with everyone.

Wish me luck :D

Going bare just doesn't make it for me. I would never take the scope or sights off my rifle and try to hunt bare. I know some get a good feeling going without, but I know how bad I feel when I make a poor shot with sights. It just doesn't make sense.

How do you shoot an arrow without a rest? And as far as luck I rather have skill on my side.

Practise, practise, practise. I now use all the gadgets but for several years was Barebow & Recurve (B/4 compounds).
38 Biggame animals bagged that way.
Good Luck & enjoy...

Good luck. My goal is to actually bag a monster with a recurve with knapped arrow heads I make myself.

As for guns I use a hawken sidelock I built myself with over 40 hrs in it. Never shot a deer with a shotgun or modern rifle.
