HELP! EXTREME VFT OR LX?
I' ve put off buying a new bow too long, but have narrowed my choices down to two models. The Bowtech Extreme VFT and Mathews LX. I have shot them both, and was impressed with each of them in different ways. Has anyone owned/hunted with either of these? Any feedback good or bad would be welcomed. I' m a 28" draw, shoot 70 lbs.. and hunt from tree stands some, but also like ground blinds and still hunting alot.

RE: HELP! EXTREME VFT OR LX?
Well I have only shot the LX. I purchased an Lx this year and have not one bad thing to say about it. It is whisper quiet, fast very smooth pulling and shooting. I also am a 28" draw at 70 lbs. I shoot Carbon Express 300' s and get a speed of 294 fps out of it. It is a dream for me owning this bow. I had a Browning Afterburner before the LX and there is no comparison. I recomend this bow to anyone that likes compound bows.

RE: HELP! EXTREME VFT OR LX?
If you look for speed Extreme VFT will be faster about 8 fps than LX. I shot both and compared both. I shoot for hunting Patriot SC because I am 29 draw lenght with this bow. Patriot shoots with the same speed as LX, but with 7 1/4 BH.
VFT with 28 draw at 70 lbs should give you about 280 fps when an arrow is 380 grain, when your string will be supplied with peep with rubber tube, 2 brass nocks and two catwhiskers. The string on VFT is much better quality compared to LX. It is made by Stone Mountain. The string' s qulity is close to Winners Choice. I see VFT as a better hunting value if you look for speed and light weight. Shoot both before you make decision. Both are nice bows. Vodek |

RE: HELP! EXTREME VFT OR LX?
I am personally a mathews fan, but i have one thing to say about the LX. Check the roller guard. We had to send a few back the company because the rollers didnt put enough pressure on the cable and they would come off the rollers and tear the serving. Theyve fixed the problem now, it was just a glitch that happened on a few bows, but make sure you check just encase you get a lemon. Other than that, i would go with the LX. Or better yet, a legacy. :D

RE: HELP! EXTREME VFT OR LX?
I have shot both bows and would select and did, the VFT, speed , smooth and dependable at a better price. Check the charts at www.huntersfriend.com
they give plenty of info. |
