Need advice

I finally broke down and purchased a pair of rubber boots like the " pros" wear.
I' d heard repeatedly how they were scentproof and were vital to keeping you scent from deer. Ok, now that I have them, how do I get rid of the rubber smell?? I' ve let them air out for nearly 2 weeks and the rubber smell is pretty strong. I' ve also tried spraying scent killer on them. No dice.

Two weeks until the MD opener. Is there anyway to get rid of the rubber smell???

Thanks!

I' ve always just washed them down with plain water. i don' t think the rubber smell ever goes away, but it must not " leave" the rubber. Either that or deer don' t seem to care about it.

Clean them well if you wish, to get any powder residue off of them - I have burried them in dirt for some time and it helps a little.

Don' t let the rubber smell worry you to much - the smell does not easily transfer onto the ground and the rubber is great for stoping any of your smell from getting to the ground.

They do there job, rubber smell or not:)

Yeah I have worn Rubber boots for 3 years now, and they still smell like rubber, but they work like a million bucks... I have had countless deer cross the same trail I walked in on and with a lil cover scent on the boots, not one has picked me up... They are Great....

I' ve had good success with rubber boots. Evidently the scent goes with the boots and it' s not left for the deer to pick up.

I wear them always and they work well. They do keep your scent contained. Besides rubber boots nor rubber scent has ever killed a deer. So no fear for the deer.
