Bow storage?

This might be a dumb question , but how does everyone store their bows in house? Will hanging it on a hook like at the shop have any long term damage results? Just bought my first bow and am trying to figure out all aspects of it!

Thanks

I hang mine... Have never had any issues. Guess I never thought about it really. That's how they are at the shop, so I assume it's ok.

Mine lives in the trees and hibernates in a hard case in the basement.

Hi guys!!! i have same Question.. I am currently recording the Magi in the garage. Is the cold temps, and in the long term? What about the summer heat is bad for them? Any IDEA please...:rolleye0011:

Temperatures can't get low enough to harm a bow, but extreme heat can. I'm talking about heat in a car trunk or other enclosure during summer heat. The heat in your garage won't hurt anything.. And hanging on a hook is OK, too.

Frankly I keep mine in a soft case in the back of my truck (cap) as they never see storage. I shoot almost daily and can't see the walking down the steps to the basement to get it every day.

High heat will cause your strings to stretch and/or weaken. After giving the strings/cables a good coat of wax, I store my $1000 bow in a nice case in the house where the temperature and humidity do not reach extremes. Makes me feel better regardless of what others may think!!
