Shooting problem.....
 

The last 3 times I' ve shot my bow (twice on 3d, once on a bag), I start out fine...but after several shots, I start shooting to the right. On the 3d course, it' s happened on a few targets, then I' ll shoot a target or 2 fine......then back to the right. Any ideas on why I' m doing this?

My guess would be you are not using the same anchoring point. I have in the past caught myself doing this. My ancoring point is my kisser and the side of my nose. Where my problem was is I would catch my self touching the string to the end of my nose instead of the side of it. I was inconsistant with my ancoring point. My accuracy wouldn' t suffer alot but there defentily was a difference in where my groups hit the target.

do u torque ur bow?

or do u peek every once in a while?

are u shooting too much weight?

The problem of the occasional arrow to the right is usually caused by gripping the bow in expectation of the shot. Relax your bow hand and think about NOT grabbing it. If you have a wrist strap, you know you are doing it right when your bow starts to roll forward after each shot.

I had this same exact problem a few years back and on a recommendation of a friend bought a box of toothpicks for .59. I would place a toothpick between my thumb and pointer finger of the hand holding the bow, and the first time I tried to shoot I almost drove the toothpick through my thumb from trying to grip the bow.

A few dozen toothpicks later I didn' t think about " gripping" my bow anymore.

An excellent idea, it wouldn' t work for me with my fat stubby hands, I shoot totally open handed, heck I couldn' t even get my index finger and thumb together around my grip![:o]
