At mt stand sights, I shoot at 15-20yds and also have a 30 yd shot premarked.....sure don' t like that 30 shot...I think 20 yds is my favorite distance

I think average is 15 to 20 yards. Thats a nice distance! If there closer you get funky angles and its easier to get busted. Love those 17 to 22 yard shots!

In my case I do not think an average is trully reflective of the actual distances that I shoot. Most of my shots are either between 20-25 yards or under 10 yards. The average would be between 10 and 20 but I rarely get a shot at that distance. For awhile there I was shooting at 6 or 7 yards regularly. I hunt some thick areas.

15 - 20 is about average for me. Shot a buck on opening day last season at 14 ft. That' s the closest deer I' ve ever shot in my life. Longest was just about 30 yds.

As you can see, it takes good scouting, lots of knowledge, or a ton of luck to get w/in 20 yds of a deer. Not like shooting a rifle where if you are a good shot, you can shoot a few hundred yards... This is one of the things that makes bowhunting such a challenge and so fun.

I' ve had shots from 7 to 32 yards. Most of these have been in the 15-25 yard range. I' ve had quite a few pass by at 35-40 yards, but this year, I' ll be confident at that range.
