broadheads
i am picking up my bow tomorrow just wondering what weight i should get i have a 30in draw length, and a 70lb draw weight was going to talk to them tomorrow about what i need but thought i would get some more input for you guys

Getting bow at Big Sky Archery, Yellowstone Gateway Sports or Wholesale Sports? Wholesale Sports has good bow sale right now. As for broadheads, 100 grain will offer the largest selection. Since you are in Montana and will probably be hunting elk then I would suggest a fixed blade. I have had good luck with slick tricks. Will fly great out of a properly tuned bow.

magnus snuffes 125g, 6 of them fer $35

ok i did not know if my draw weight affected my broad heads thought that i would have needed a larger broadhead

Your draw length and your draw weight AND you tip weight determine what spine arrow you need. All 3 together must be considered. A heavier tip will make an arrow flex more as will a longer draw length. If you plan on hunting anything heavier than deer I would suggest a 125 gr or heavier head. The amount of speed loss will be negligable compared to the better penetration. Your archery shop should be able to set you up properly.

x2 on the slick tricks

X3 with the Slick Tricks. I shoot Slick Trick Mags and love them. They Fly great and don't have to worry about the blades not opening like some mechanicals. I also shoot 70 pds and 30" draw.

Actually if you're new to archery the last thing you need to worry about right now is broadheads. You need to learn to shoot, tune, pick propeerly spined arrows, good shooting form, and more. Picking broadheads is something you don't need to rush into. As you learn more it will come to you as to what weight broadheads you'll need. You probably have at least 6 months before you have to worry about broadheads.
