Goals for the upcomming season??

Just like to hear some of your goals for this season. Mine is to hunt more(15-20 times-not whole days) and shoot another P&Y book buck. One of my hunting partners goals is to shoot 5 deer, max allowed in MN in some areas. What would make your season a real success?

Thanks!

My friend and are going to try to video each other shooting mature bucks. Hopefully it all comes together, but if not it' s going to be fun trying.

To learn something of value about my local bucks that I can use for future years.

To make less mistakes than ever.

To have the patience to wait for the right day to hunt the right stand.

To have my arrow fly true and to its mark.

To ENJOY myself and my time in the woods.

If I can do this - the rest is gravy

My goals are to take at least 3 does in archery this year, and to shoot a buck bigger than last years.(last years buck had a 12" spread)

And it would be nice to have my deer drop in sight, rather than having to trail them, after last year I need a break.

Put a little meat in the freezer, have a good time, and take my little bro out with me a few times. Heck, I' d sacrifice all my deer this year so he can shoot his 1st. The look on a youngsters face is something I' ll never forget! 20 years down the road, we can all look back and say, " I' ve shot 50 deer" , but how many say " I' ve taken X # of kids out for their 1st hunt." Thats something to be proud of! They are the future of hunting!

To kill a limit in Arkansas which is 2 bucks and a doe. All bucks have to have at least 3 points on one side by law, but my goal is two 8s or better.

To kill my limit in Illinois, a buck scoring 130 or more and a doe.

Decompress with some deep woods therapy . Have fun . Shoot some does for the freezer and freinds . Wait for a big buck for the wall , and enjoy how close the littel bucks walk by . 10 months with out a day off , and the time is comeing up for it all to pay off .

I want to restock my freezer with at least one butterball doe. I then want to harvest my first buck.

Goals for the season,

I' d like to fill the freezer. Of course I' d love to get a book buck. I think I' ve done my scouting this year, we' ll see where it takes me.

Most importantly, I want to learn from my last years mistakes. I have to learn more patience especially when I have a deer walking at me. I just need to be able to ignore the shakes, and think about what I should do.

Most importantly, I' m going to continue to have fun and enjoy being outside. That should be everyones goal. Walk to me stand and forget about everything!!!!!!

I want to see at least 50 sunrises and sunsets while hunting. I also want to see a bunch of meteorites burning throught the atmosphere while I' m waiting for the sunrise. I' d like to see my hunting pardner and my hunting buddy (wife) get a nice buck, their way over due. As far as the actual hunting part of it, I' m just proud that I can still climb my big old decrepid butt up in a tree and enjoy what I love most, hunting deer. Every deer I kill is a bonus.

I hope all of you obtain your goals and have a safe season.
God Bless

hunt smarter then i ever have, really enjoy every minute on stand, try to kill a
mature buck in kentucky, and try to kill my 4th P&Y buck at home, and may get
lucky and match them to sheds, i found in april, that would be a huge bonus:D

* To harvest any deer (exept for a fawn) it will be my first.

* To outsmart the deer (unlike last year)...better patience on when to draw.

* and finnally to make a humane kill when that deer steps out into the open.

I would like to kill something with my bow. I havent shot ANYTHING but targets with my bow so far.
If I do harvest a buck, I want it to be a wall hanger. Im gonna pass on smaller bucks, thats the plan anyway;) I know its gonna be hard to pass anything since I aint got one with my bow yet, but I will try:)

Harvest a tasty venison treat!!! Get my wife a crack at her first bow kill. Get my brother to break down and buy a bow so we can hunt together.

My first goal is ussually to put two deer in the freezer. Most of the time that means two does, cause I won' t shoot at a young or imature buck. Too bad more hunters in NY don' t do the same.

Spend as much time in the country, without my wife wanting to divorce me. Call in a bull elk, will be my first. Get that pesky pronghorn that keeps teasing me. And take a nice deer. But mostly just get out in the country and do some hunting. [:-]

1- enjoy the outdoors
2- enjoy the company of freinds and family
3- to thank the Good Lord for this season and past season. And with his will many more seasons.
4- fill my freezer.
5-and just maybe that ole' 12pt will have a moment of stupidity and stroll past my stand.

1. Play the game the best that I can!!!!!

2. shoot some does, so the herd won' t go.

3. Get some video

4. Share the tree with some friends.

Harvest more mature deer.
Harvest a buck.
Try to donate at least 2 deer.

RE: Goals for the upcomming season??

Remember everything that I learned last year. Yeah right!;)

Make sure that my but is awake and going well before the elk are. I' m not a morning person.

Enjoy feeling the rush of a bull charging in and ready to kick my but.

Fall asleep to the bulls bugeling at night in the meadow behind camp.

Don' t meet up with any bears.

To harvest a 350" bull.:D
