RE: How to find arrow??!!??
Just don' t miss and you have nothing to worry about!!!!! If you miss I would suspect the arrow to go no farther than 5 to 10 yards if you were to shoot under the animal.

Use some of the 3M reflective tape as a wrap on the arrow. Wait until dusk/dark then go looking with a flashlight. Looks kind of flat gray in the daylight, but is ultra reflective when hit with a flashlight at night.

Arrows don' t " sore" they fall very quickly.
Any shot " that misses a deer" from a ground blind will not go that far. You know (or should know) the line of the shot - Not that hard to find???? If you hit a deer - the arrow is not going far. Worry more about not missing and about how to find an arrow and you should be fine. |

RE: How to find arrow??!!??
my problem is that i cant find them when they stick into the ground. It is that it hasnt rained here in over a month and it doesnt look like it will for at least another 3-4 weeks. Bow openner is in 2 weeks and the ground it so hard that the arrow would " ricocea" (spelling??) off the ground and go in any direction.

If you shoot over.........well that' s another story.;):D
Actually if you connect you could be in for a long flight........I shot a buck from a makeshift groundblind last year with a 70# bow and a large cutting diameter mechanical. I got a nice level entrance and exit hole, but I was amazed at where I found that arrow. Exactly 47 yards (my paces) beyond the point of impact, and facing the other direction! IF you get any sort of deflection off a rib in an upward angle (even slight) on a clean pass thru you might be surprised to see where that arrow lays. |
