Default My First Big Buck (big to me at least)

November 4th, 2011 at 6:03pm....
After a long week at the hunting camp I finaly nailed a beauty! 10 point Whitetail with the longest tines measuring in at 9 and 9.5 inches. From my treestand the shot was broadside at 32yrds. He only made it 15yrds before he "shovel-nosed". Called him in using a doe in estrus call. He was chasing a mama and her little one and moving away from me at about 45yrds. I had to call so loud I thought for sure I would have spooked the whole woods but instead it turned him around and made him bee-line straight towards my stand! He wound up on a trail that went to a couple scrapes I was hunting over and gave me a wide open 32yrd shot broadside! I didn't tape him but he is at the taxidermists. Any guesses at his score? Here's a couple pics either way:

No guess on the score, but a great looking buck. Sounds like a perfect shot too! Good job.

I'm not overly concerned about the score... I'm just happy that he will make a beautiful mount! The score question was more a curiosity.

As for the perfect shot... well, I used a 100 grain g5 tekan mechanical head and upon field dressing I found I had a direct heart shot! Not to sound like a salesman here but OMFG those tekans make a sick wound! The heart had a hole the size of my thumb!

I so cannot wait for my mount to be finished! I look at my pics daily, probabley on an hourly basis on my cell phone lol

Great Buck!!! i love those narrow tall racks. I would guess him to be about 135.

And i agree with those tekans, I love them!
