Thought I had a decent sized doe but..

Went and scouted some new lands today got set up at 4 pm this deer came in at about 20 yards looked like a good sized doe but it turned out to be a button buck guess he had something wrong cause he should of at least had some spikes, the land im hunting is beautiful scenery.

Something wrong?

Not in my neck of the woods. Button bucks are button bucks (born in June). And spikes are spikes usually 1.5. Now about 10 years ago I shot a 3 point, but he was aged at 8.5 years old. I knew it before I shot him though, been on my property his entire life, he used to be a respectable 8 point, just couldn't get a shot during legal light. Molars were wore down to darn near nuth'n.

Looks like a fawn buck to me, not too much bigger than the stand platform. What did it weigh? Any way, some good eating.

it would be a fawn on roids
