To the OP, you do know a BB....IS a buck fawn...right?

Looking at the photo, I'm not so sure the OP isn't "kinda" right, though. That doesn't look like a buck fawn to me. His head's too long and his body's too long.

I've seen bucks lose one of thei antlers in velvet or later. I'm sure there's a possibility this one had spikes (or whatever a spindly 1.5yo would carry) and lost them @ the pedicle.

No way that deer is anywhere close to 124lbs. That looks just like every other fawn around my neck of the woods.

looks like a fawn to me...maybe the skin was rubbed raw on the one "antler" but the other is skinned over like a button.

Is there anything dangling between the hind legs? If not it is a Fawn, if so it is a Buck. Simple.

From here a BB is a buck no matter what you call it if it has a "dangly thingy"!!!!!!
And being in Il as well, it is a fawn from all the others I have ever seen here. Regardless, he will make good eatn no matter.
Hey BHA, just look at the tag you get back from the processor and it will say how many total pounds of meat you took in. Let us know.
