Odd question
I have bowhunted for 25 years and took my share of deer but shot only my second turkey today. It was almost dark, Don't know why they were on the ground that late anyway. The last one fell in sight but this one ran off. It was hit hard enough it couldn't fly (it tried but couldn't get of the ground). It left a sparce bloodtrail for about 40 yards and went into a thicket. It got to dark and I backed out til first light but heres my question. 100 grain Muzzy, bright red blood, like lung blood from a deer, hit hard enough it couldn't get off ground. How far can this bird go? I have a feeling it's in the thicket but just wondered what your opinions were.

i dont think he could go over 200 yards if hes hit like you said he was. when trailing a hit animal persistence pays off, hope you find him!

Good luck finding your Turkey. I bet he did not go more than 100 yards or even out of that thicket you described. I shot at two turkeys last year and just barely missed them both. Good shot man.

It seems somtimes these birds are harder to knock down than a deer with a bow. Good luck finding him if the yotes have not found him first.
