Just got a crossbow and wondering if anyone knows of some good broadheads to use. I was told to get atleast 125 grain, but wondering which brand and model people like to use. Thanks.

RE: Broadheads for crossbows
Most crossbows won' t allow for helical fletching and the bolts are short and not nearly as stable as a longer arrow. I would say a good mechanical, something like a Rocky snyper, Rocket steelhead, Vortex min-max steel or NAP scorpion would make a good choice. These will fly well and should allow for good penetration on reasonable shots. This is for deer size game only though.

RE: Broadheads for crossbows
:D Well that would all depend on what type of crossbow you have, what shafts you are using what the manufacturer recommends etc.........I use broadheads & mechanicals with my Excalibur & they both work great!!!!!!!! [8D] Brampton Mike

RE: Broadheads for crossbows
I watched a friend of mine who is physically unable to pull a compound any longer shoot his crossbow at a target. He was shooting Muzzys at the time and shot as well as any stick bow or compound......up to 30 yds., which he decided was his effective range with his crossbow. He had also shot Thunderheads and some other fixed blade broadheads with success.
