I finally bought a trail cam after all these years. Here is my first buck on the cam. Not as big as some I seen on here, but sure makes me excited for opening day!

Big enough to earn a ride home in the back of my truck.

He'd definitely be bigger next year but I'd probably take him unless there was a bigger one with him. That's the first hard bone I've seen this year.

He's a nice one for sure. A trophy for any bowhunter but he's still a young deer.

He won't score all that well this year though because his tines are a bit short and he doesn't have a lot of mass.

If he eludes you (and others) this season he'll be a whopper next year!

Some folks have some unusual reactions over a 2 year old Buck with 5" tines ?!? LOL! Seriously his G2's are's anywhere near as long as his 7" ear..... certainly NOT a shooter in WI (the state with more P&Y Bucks that ANY other!).

I wouldn't get a big hurry killing an immature Buck like him early in the season.... it's actually FUN to spend a little time hunting. LOL !

If that's a deer you would be happy taking, then take him if you get the chance. No on can define a trophy but you.

Blessings.......Pastorjim
