We are heading to NC in November, when is the rut down there?

Any help would be great!

The rut here in NC usually starts up around the first of November and peaks about Thanksgiving. I' ve also taken some good bucks the first couple of weeks in December that were rutting hard.

the rut seems to vary here in NC -- we see the rut starting around the last week of october and in full swing the first two weeks of november. by thanksgiving it seems that pretty much all the hanky panky is gone up here. the western part of the starts seems to start up a little later than the eastern

just from what i' ve seen

Click is right about the rut starting at different times for different parts of the state. The same thing happens in Florida. Last year I saw a list that gave the date of the peak rut, and it had a county by county breakdown. This was obtained by several previous years rutting times as observrd by the state biologists.

If you contact the Game commision for the state you are going to visit and ask how you might be able to speak with a state biologist. These are hardworking people who can give you some of the best info available. They can possibly give you the exact date for the county you are going to.
