shootin a little low so should i change or crank it??
 

when shooting at 20 -30 - or 40 yards i am consistently the same distance low. shooting a 3" by 3" post-it note aiming in the middle i consistently hit the bottom edge of the paper.

i could ...

1- change my sight and adjust it down a little to compensate and be head on

or

2- i was thinking i could crank my poundage up a little to bring my arrow up?


i am currently pulling back 65# on a 70# hoyt magnatec. and with this set up flining carbon at about 250fps.

3- or i could just leave it be[:o]

Depends how picky you are. I' d have to retune if I increased 5 lbs.[:-] If your bows well tuned and grouping good, move your site. If you want to shoot a bit faster, crank it up. Just be prepared to tweek.[:-]

Nub is correct, it all depends on how picky you are. I dont mind hitting a little low, 1" to 1 1/2" , at 20 yrds. Helps, in my mind, when using the 20 yrd pin for a 10 yrd shot. I do like to be dead on at 30 and 40 yrds.

I would not complain to much if I hit 1" low at 40. :)

If shooting a little low was bothering me, I would move the pin bracket as a whole to bring all 3 up instead of increasing poundage. But, 70# is a little more than I like to pull back with comfort.

I thought the whole reason for " sighting in" , wether bow or gun, was to put the aiming device (pin or crosshairs) where the projectile is hitting at a pre determined distance.

That' s just my take on it.

Agree. Move the 20 yard pin to be dead on. I mentally just know I' ll shoot a little high at 10.

No doubt about it. Move your pins so you' re dead n. That' s what is called sighting in. Increasing the poundage would most likely throw the bow out of tune, maybe enough you' ll have other problems besides hitting a little low.

I agree,move the pin.


Besides,I don' t think you will gain enough speed to raise the arrow,by increasing poundage.

Thats why the sights have little screwy things on them - to move them;)

I don' t see the problem???? Heck I move mine 20 or 30 times a day:D;)
