2" broadheads (???????)
I just seen a broadhead with a 2" cutting diameter in a magazine, I was not aware that they made them that big, I thought that 1-3/4 was as big as they got. Anybody use the 2" blades and how well do they work.

Check out the BuckBlaster by Rocket Aerohead, 2 3/4" cut. Sorry I can' t comment on using them. I' m sure they would be fine for Turkey though.

I use the Rocket Sidewinder w/ 1-1/2 inch diameter. Can' t personally comment on the 2inch or bigger ones. My initial thought is that you will trouble with penetration when your broadheads open that wide. JMO

RE: 2" broadheads (???????)
Hey i use the rocket hammerheads, they are 2" cutting diameter. I havent lost a deer i shot with them yet. They make such a huge hole tho its sweet. Even if ur not gettin a perfect double lung shot , u will still get the deer most likely . My dad even got one this past year when he shot it in the A$$. The buck turned jsut as he let go , and it smacked him in the right butt cheek , and went up through the gut, and somehow hit the liver. But i shoot 58 lbs and they work perfect even with that low poundage. I like them.

PaBowhunter has good things to say about the Rocket Hammerhead. 5shot also had good things to say about the Mini-Max line with up to 2" cut.
It all boils down to shot placement and ke... |

That' s good to hear. I am a huge Rocket fan and haven' t tried the Hammerhead - if others have tried it w/ success...maybe i' ll try a pack and see what happens.

I' ll add that the Vortex 100 and 125 have 2.5" and 2.75" (respectively) cut. I' ve used both of these heads and you hear anything bad about them from me.....you do need a healthy amount of K.E. behind them though.

RE: 2" broadheads (???????)
I have also used the 125 Vortex, but have switched to rocket steel heads.Jason N got it right you need alot of energy to push that much resistance threw a deer.Had a hunting partner shooting a 55lb. draw weight and a 100gr. Vortex loose a deer with a good quartering shot(found the deer 1 week later[:' (].Not enough energy to open blades and get a pass threw, deer was only 17 yards away when he shot it.Wider is not always better 1 1/8 is plenty to kill efficiently.I found arrow placment and penatration are the most important factors.Good Luck.

RE: 2" broadheads (???????)
I have to agree ! I have used Hammerheads and Gator' s both with 2" , as well as other brands in 1 1/8" and 1.5 " heads. And the 2" didn' t kill them any deader or faster than the 1 1/8" on equally good shots. You just end up with a dead deer with a bigger hole in it ! :D
