fletching colors
What color fletching shows blood the best. I shot a doe last year and had a hard time finding my arrow. I have been using 2 blue 1 yellow is there any colors that would show up better?

RE: fletching colors
Chartruease colors and white show up pretty good.

RE: fletching colors
I use 2 white and 1 red. The white shows blood well and the red makes the arrow a bit easier to find.:D
But the bummer is that the colours of my fletchers stick out like a sore toe when I' m hunting. To fix this I made a pouch to cover the fletchers on my arrows, but it now acts like a sail and catches the wind like a champion, which makes it kinda hard when shooting in windy conditions [:' (][:@]. RE: fletching colors

RE: fletching colors
White dipped or wrapped arrow with three white vanes, just use a marker to mark the cock vane. This shows up really well unless you are hunting in snow, which dont happen much in MO.

RE: fletching colors
I use 2 whites with a fluorescent orange cock feather
I also have a Sims fletching cover that goes over your arrows to hide the fletching (Ted Nugent uses one all the time on his show). After trying it though, it deforms the vanes. It may ot be so bad on feathers, but the vanes tend to stay that way and will not striaghten out |

RE: fletching colors
I' m using two yellow with one chartreusse. When I got my doe it seemed the blood showed pretty good on the yellow but not as good on the chartreusse. As for finding them after you shoot...I' m still looking for one I lost in the fallen yellow leaves last year. Maybe someone else found it after the leaves browned later on. When I get new arrows I' m switching to something easier to spot in the fall colors.

RE: fletching colors
This season, I' m running all white. Three 5" shield cut feathers and white Bohning Classic nocks. I don' t use a bow quiver so I don' t have to worry about them waving around like a white flag. Also, it rarely snows here during hunting season.
Really, one of the best colors is hot pink. Just kinda difficult to look all tough and macho in all your camo and stuff with pink fletches. [&:] |
RE: fletching colors

RE: fletching colors
What color fletching shows blood the best But I have to say for me the color of fletching really doesn' t matter much anymore. I have so many vanes laying around right now that I just grab the first pack in the drawer. Currently, this year, I am using 2 purple and 2 black. I just made a few arrows for friend, one set was done with 4 white vanes, and the other set was 2 gold and one black. I have to say that the gold looked better then I thought it would. My wife said that they look like Halloween arrows though. After she said that, I had to agree. |
RE: fletching colors
I shoot 3 5" white feathers on a white crown dip, withg a flo green nock.
|
RE: fletching colors
I use 2 orange and 1 white with orange nock and the shaft dipped in white about 6 inches down and blood shows real well...

RE: fletching colors
2 White/1 White Grey Barred with a white nock
