Default found my 2010 bow kill

Well I looked for around a week for this guy after I shot him on the evening of november 3 2010, and he finally showed up. He is at the taxidermist now and was officially scored at 158 3/8 nontypical, would have been nice to find him right after I shot him instead of six months later

I am getting a shoulder mount done, bought a cape already and will be done about november I think, the antlers didnt show any wear on them except for bleached out a little. The taxidermist talked about using dirt and a clear coat that brings back the color on them.

Well at least it wasn't a total loss; & it would have been a shame to loose such a beautiful animal. Happy you found him! Gonna make a beautiful mount!

I blood trailed the deer 300 yards west from where I shot the deer and he ended up circling back to the south and east of where I shot him. All together I would say he ran over half a mile. I made the mistake of getting out of my treestand after 10 minutes because I thought I missed the deer. He never reacted much to the shot just bolted. I wanted to get my arrow and get out of there so I could come back 3 days later and try it again. He was only 20 yards past where I shot him and next thing I knew he was running. Rookie mistake and I believe it is what cost me from finding the deer the next morning to six months later. The next morning we found good blood and took up the trail with no luck. I searched for around a week in the area west of my stand with no answers.
A friend of mine heard of a buck being found dead when the farmers were starting to work the fields they found it.

The game and parks told me to bring the deer over and they would examine it. I told them the story and how the deer had the stickers on the mainbeam in which made him different from most 10 points. They scored the deer for me and then told me the deer is mine to keep with out a tag. I wanted a salvage tag to cover my butt, but they said there was no need for one.

Just curious if you ever found your arrow? I was also wondering if you are still having snow this time of year in Nebraska?
