BowHunting Problem

I have a very long beard – like long...it extends about 25cm (8+ in.) below the level of my chin.
I want to begin bow hunting this year but I am having a few problems with the beard.
I can’t seem to find a good system to restrain my beard while shooting. I have tried tucking it into my shirt and this sort of works but sometimes it falls out and I have problems with bringing the string right against my face for fear it will catch on my beard and tear off of my face off. Also will not be good for hunting when I don’t have time to tuck it in before I draw on game.

Other ideas I am thinking of trying
- beard net
- face veil like most bow hunters wear
- braiding or similar of the beard.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue? Or know of anyone who might know of someone who shoots a bow with a long beard?

Please let me know

I have goat-t (spelling) and if I let it go for a couple of weeks and it gets about 3/4" long I find it catching on the string of my compound and plucking out hairs when I shoot. Don' t feel too good.[:@] I just have to keep it trimed.

It will look kind of funny but see if you can brade it or put hair bands around it so it is off to the opposite side of where you place your string against your mouth.

I use a face mask when hunting

I have a beard and I dont have any problems. I also shoot league with a guy who would give cardeer a run for his money when it comes to beard length and he doesn' t have any trouble at all.

Maybe it' s just a phsycological problem!:D

Part it down the middle and tie it up in back of your neck[&:]:D--i' m sorry,i just couldn' t resist.I would think the face mask would do the trick.

I finally just said goodbye to my beard. Fortunately, I' m just as ugly without it as I am with it. :) It was changing color and starting to look like a whitetail flag anyway.

But the face mask does keep you from getting your chin plucked each time you shoot.

And you might try a shorter bow. The string angle of short bows keeps the string more away from your facial plumage.
