Setting Time Limits for Hunting

Here is a year old article that I’m not sure was talked about on here. The topic however has come up on other hunting forums. The study found that hunting quotas limiting the number of game that hunters can take based from the previous year; may jeopardize wildlife populations. They recommend that wildlife managers rethink policies for sustainable utilization by setting limits on the number of days allowed for hunting rather than the number of game.

This goes back to everyone that has talked about year-round hunting and pressure here in Oregon and what that may be doing to our game herds. Do you think Oregon or other states need to take a look at this and possibly follow it?

Oregon has year around hunting for big game? I didn't know any states had such.
Apparently if that's the case, Oregon is behind the times because I don't know of any other state that doesn't have limited times to hunt with any given weapon of choice and limited areas/units to do so.
