Shed Hunting Makes Me Mad

I went and walked for over 2 hours the other day and ended up finding one shed that was at least 2yrs old. then today I watched Midwest whitetails and the guy walked around for an hour and half and found around 10 sheds. That is dumb why cant I get that that lucky.

Here is the link to the show

They probably found the sheds before hand, or bought them.

Some folks are gifted for finding them, some are not. Location, location, location per usual.

He could also be looking on an area which is much more populated.

They are hunting land that holds many more bucks then your land most likely. Some guys on Whitetail Freaks find well over 100 sheds in a year. These farms aren't normal.

private land,
they are probably raising more bucks to doe ratios,
also know paths deer take to/from food/water/bedding areas,
no time wasted checking unused parts

Many people have covered the same opinions I would on this topic, everything from you can't believe everything you see on TV, to the fact they are probably on private property that is heavily managed.

But the main point, you can't get discouraged while shed hunting.. Just enjoy being out in the woods, take that chance to scout out the woods for next season, and if you're lucky you'll find some sheds. Good Luck on future shed hunting trips..
