Default Does anybody use a recurve when bowhunting?

I know absolutely nothing about bowhunting. My dad was an avid archer, and favored a recurve. I was just curious if anyone uses them for hunting, I usually only see compounds. Why wouldn't you use a recurve?

I bought one a few years ago with intentions of taking it hunting but did not get to spend the time needed to be confident with it. Trad equipment takes alot more practice than modern compounds. I may try again this year but who knows.

Takes too much work and dedication for most to use one.

I hunted with a Recurve for years.

It is easy to pick one up and go Hunt, quite different to truly hunt and be effecient with it.

If you decide to hunt with one make sure you are willing to put in the time and dedication it takes to become truly effecient and stay within that effective range.

Nothing would be more gradifieng to me than taking an elk wit a recurve or a long bow. Untill I get a 300 class bull with my compound I wont try it but when and if I do I promised myself I would. Good luck and keep the tradition alive.
