You slide the performance bar until the calculated speed matches the measured speed, then it is calibrated. Once you get the performance bar in the right spot then the spine choices are accurate.
I do think AA is much easier to use and setup but I don't think one is necessarily better than the other. I have both and, when set up correctly, they both give me the same result.

Speed has NOTHING to do with how spine is selected on the program. It is cam style only.Unless they have changed the program recently.I talked to them extensively in the past about this being a problem.

LOL You had me doubting myself but I just did it and the optimal spine went from (slider is at -67) .3315 to (slider is at 0).3086. The staic spine doesn't change but, it shouldn't.
edit: The calculated speed went from 250.86 to 262.92.

I might try to reload the program to see if it is better than before.

I had lost my original version due to a computer crash. And I was not happy with it so I never reloaded it after the computer was fixed.
I did just reload the trial version and yes, bruce is correct, the performance slider does adjust for spine selection.Glad to see this issue has been addressed.

I have also noticed some other changes a person wouldn't notice unless they had saved setups with the performance slider adjusted. The saved setups show an incorrect speed now, at the saved slider setting. When the performance slider is moved closer to or at zero the speed is closer or it is correct to the actual measured speed.
Anyway, Todd, I give you credit for them making it a better program.

You may want to give yourself credit for getting them to change
