vendetta bow mount range finder
 

i bought my vendetta this off season when it first can out and was very impressed. that is until the season started and i tried it out in the woods. its worthless in the woods. it picks up everything. if theirs and type of small branches or twigs in the way its going to pick it up. i missed a really nice buck the other night because i got a false reading. its awesome if your hunting on a field edge but thats about all its good for. has anyone else bought one and had this problem.

No, but that sucks sorry to hear that. I wont buy it cause its made by Leopold and in Some states its not legal, but mainly cause my Leopold Range Finder is pathetic, and overpriced and I dont need more junk on my bow. However, i did think it was a pretty ingenious idea, sorry to hear that its that bad. Thats really a bummer

ive never really used a rangefinder that didnt pick up sticks and such, but sorry that you didnt like it

Range finders on bows. What has bow hunting come to?

I have one now and I think its great. It definitely picks up small branches and twigs but like blake frautschi said all rangefinders do. What I really like is that it is angle compensated as well. No wonder I have missed some shots before. My regular range finder was saying 37 yards and with the vendetta it was actually 30 angle compensated. I think this is great for bowhunting. We all know part of being a polished bowhunter is making ethical shots. This allows the bowhunter to make an eithical shot because you know the exact yardage. When a buck comes out of nowhere and is right below you don't have time to fumble around trying to range him with you rangefinder. When you can aim with your bow and hit the button with the vendetta and know the yardage you can make that ethical perfect hit on the deer.

Sorry about your misfortune on missing your deer. But personally I don't really like the idea. One is the legality issue earlier. two any electronics on your bow (including lighted nocks) makes a P&Y entry invalid. three - more weight on the bow.
I prefer to use my RX range finder once I am in my stand and take ranges on objects in every direction where I can take a shot out to my self imposed range limit. Then I am ready when a shot presents itself.
