mechanicals?

How durable are they?
Do they hold up well when they hit bone,or if you miss[:o]?
I hate [:@] when that happens!!!

RE: mechanicals?

The ones with a steel ferule will probably hold up much better than aluminum.
The steelforces come to mind. There could be others.

RE: mechanicals?

It all depends on the head. some are excellent some are junk. go to my website www.broadheadtests.com I have some good info on them as well as a couple test results. That should help you decide if you want to use them or not. Then we can decide and the type style and brand of head best suited to your needs.

RE: mechanicals?

thats a very general question.

You can' t lump all mechanicals into one group. There are many diff types - some good - some bad - some strong - some weak.

never used them and haven' t needed to. I have used Muzzies for years and shot the Montec G5' s last year and absolutely love them. You don' t need mechanicals if your bow and arrows are tuned and flying the way the BOW GOD' s intended. lol

RE: mechanicals?

Most prefer them while turkey hunting, and there are a bunch of hunters that prefer the larger cutting diameters that they offer to do as much tissue damage as possible. If you have enough kenetic energy, why not use it to the fullest by using all the tissue cutting blade as possible? Not everyone has perfect shooting form either, and mechanicals help keep the arrow on target when the perfect form fails to show itself in the real world!

good point about form Howler. i would pefer to use mechanicals but in idaho you need fix blade and 65% letoff however i still would use fixed blade on elk.
