how much does 6 page ads infuence choices
 

ive read alot of responces on this board and i must say mathews has the majority hold on bowhunters. is this due in part because every bow magazine has a six page ad. i admitt the AD almost had me paying the extra $ for my new bow. i chose i buckmast g2 for a couple hundred less. i couldnt seem to tell the 2 bows apart. they were both light quiet and vibration free. if mathews pays top dollar for these 6 page ads could they drop the prices on there bows by 100$ or so if they only had 2 page ads. am i nuts. or is advertizing a huge chuck of there budget.

I don't know what they pay for the ad but the ads and the tv commercials have to add up to quite a bit . It is all added to the price of the bow . If they didn't advertise who would know about it . The more you see something even though you are not thinking about it you will remember it .that is the idea behind the whole thing getting you to remember the name .

They don't influence me at all because I am generally impatient, I don't want all of the hype. I like things presented to me short and sweet. Plus I am a stubborn fellow.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

One of the keys to being successful in business is your marketing scheme. No matter how good your product is, if you can't get noticed and get it out the door your doomed. McPherson readily admits creating a need through marketing. However, if your going to stay on top your product has to be good to stand up to the scrutiny of John Q. Public.

Not one bit.... I really dislike their adds and &quot;better than anyone else&quot; bullsugar. They buy a bunch of names to be &quot;They're people&quot; and then flood my magazines with the same stuff for a year. I also hate all these cards inserted in the magazines. The first thing I do when I get one is go thru and rip out all the two sided add pages and all the card board inserts. My magazines usually lose 50 percent body weight with that. All this additional cost is passed on to their high priced, so-so quality bows.

6 pages and 20 minutes of commercials....dunno what programs go for but I bet they could lop half the cost on a bow LOL!

I hear ya there Dave, those nasty subscription cards that fall out every 3 pages goes first here too!

I also hate all the advertising in mag.If I pick up a mag. I will look to see
just how many articles are in it, before I think about buying it.Halcon is right though the more they keep the products name in your mind, the more likley
when you look for a bow you will check them out first.Smart advertising on their part.

You're exactly right about perusing a magazine before plunking down my hard-earned dollars on it.

I can't rememember which ones they were, but several times lately I have picked up a magazine, thought about buying it, then noticed probably 70% of it was infomercial/advertisement type stuff. And they want $5 for this crap?!?

It has no effect on me, whatsoever. When the company doesn't make a bow in your draw length, all the advertising in the world won't convince you to buy one.

it doesn't have any effect on my purchse.
all the card go first.don't even look at them.
when I want something I just go to where I can look at the in real life.
all the 6pg add cost a lot but that advertising and it comes off there income TAX.lol
the old word of mouth is long gone.
