stabnslab- Man there seems to be several big bucks shot in WI this year .What are you feeding those deer up there lol.

stabnslab_WI 11-09-2010 07:19 AM

Its a combo of things, lots of farm land and heavy, heavy brush and timber. For the amount of hunters these big boys still have a lot of area to hide.

Wow... What a giant

Stabnslab, I noticed in another post you are from central WI. Where abouts in central WI?

I used to live in Rapids and Point, at that time I was going to school I Knew a guy from rosholt that liked to box, we used to go to his house and beat the snot out of each other and then drink beer. He is a cop in point now. Seen many, many big bucks come out of that area in early 2000's.

I have never seen a buck that forked that many times, I wouldn't move here though. Taxes are high and land is getting exspensive. I went and looked at 32 acres and the old man wanted $6,000 grand an acre. In my eyes its worth it because it butts up to ours but "ouch"

if you guys think 6000 is bad theres a guy selling... or trying to sell around 150 acres out near dodgeville/spring green area in wisconsin for 4 million... and if i'm not mistaken thats about $35,000 an acre....

i doubt he will sell the land, but even for thinking about that price... holy cow!

Boogeyman24 11-09-2010 06:31 PM

6 grand is pretty damn expensive, i'm in buffalo county and land isn't going for quite that. i guess with deer like that somebody'll buy... hell of a buck.

MountainHunter 11-09-2010 07:08 PM

LOL. Everything's relative. Here in Loudoun County, land is closer to $100,000 per acre!

ManofTheFall 11-10-2010 06:57 AM

Truly a beast of a buck. I hope someone nails him with a bow.

Schobs 11-10-2010 09:33 AM

I'm from Stevens Point, go to school here, and work out in Iola. Lotsa big bucks comin' outta Central Wisconsin this year. Might as well rename this the Portage County thread!
