Yes it can be replaced but have a pro shop do it! There are a lot of springs and small parts in there that after seeing it done I would be afraid to do myself. I had the same problem...went through 3 different cords until I took a small metal file and filed the bottom of the hole it comes out of to make it smoother. I haven't seen a bit of fraying since. Hope this helps and good luck!

Keep the cord waxed,I wax mine everytime I wax my string and cables!
I've replaced the cord before,if you have any mechanical ability its not that hard!
You can go to www.bowtuningtips.com and Kenny used to have a video showing how to replace the cord.
Also I emailed RIP-CORD to get a price on a new cord, and they sent one to me FREE!! and they will send you directions!

Thanks for the tips. Hello to you from milwaukee, I'm from Sussex. I must say I was impressed with Rip Cords customer service I called them today and they actually answered right away there was aperson on the receiving end of the call to talk to and I explained to them my issue and they are sending me the replacement cord and directions to replace it today they also offered me to send my rest and they would send me a new one for free with the whole fixed that solves the current problem. I just can't do that right now cause my current string hasn't broke and it is currently bow season.

I agree with wvnimod. Wax everything, every time you shot. First year with the rip cord. Had a whisker bisket for years. good rest but can stand the noise anymore, espisially in lat season. GO PaCK.
