RE: Cleaning Your Deer Mount
Im also a taxidermists and the bigest problem is dust mites and direct sunlight. Your mounts will fade fast in direct light, and the dust is the first atractant for mites then its the feather or hair. Keep them vacumed and use hair sheen or mount bright , Ask your taxidermist for these. ;)

RE: Cleaning Your Deer Mount
I have Bobcat that is kept at my grandmothers and she cleans it with a blow dryer. Really seems work well. When I get my 9pt. back any day now, that is how I am keep the dust off the ole fellow. Hope this helped a little.

RE: Cleaning Your Deer Mount
I have many mounts from heads to full mount Bear & some small game, Bear Rug, Caribou. I use a feather duster with pledge-vacume with brush in the DIRECTION OF THE HAIR. I have a couple of my 1st Bucks that were mounted in early 60s & still look good & a Bear Rug that is 25 years old & is in excellent condition. Just don' t hang em & forget the dusting. They will last a long time.
