C'mere Deer?
 

Is this considered baiting? I hunt in NC and I don't know if it is legal to use. I see it for sale in local stores.

If the product you are using in ingestible by the deer then yes it is considered baiting. If it is only a sent attractant then it is not.

I've never used it but I think it is considered an attractant,it should say on the bag!
Use peanut buter its cheaper,and it works!

North Carolina allows baiting on private land. Just not on the game lands or Fort Bragg. On Fort Bragg it is considered baiting.

Learned just a few months ago that its illegal in VA. Never used it or anything like that before and glad I didn't. Funny how you see all these stores selling it left and right though.

Oh yes, it's considered bait. Even if it is legal where you hunt it's just basically ground up rice bran with a few minerals added. Can't see why anyone would pay those high prices for it.

Thanks guys....great advice. I did some research and found that commercial products known as attractants are legal in NC except game lands. I am hunting game land myself so it is good ol' fashion hunting for me. Again...thanks for input. Some of the home recipes sound pretty good.

same situation here in NY. The DEC swears up and down how illegal baiting the deer is. But yet every hunting store I go into has their own section for attractents, food, seed, everything like that. If they don't want you to bait why do they sell them and tease us that can't use it? Bugs me everytime i see it...haha
