Over the last ohh 7 years I have used cabelas I now HATE THEIR SITE

HAs any one noticed the change at cabelas.com? It looks like a bad rip off of basspro.com

I loved the old site and it seemed to fit their company, Who smart idea was this ****ed up site?:nonono2::sad::confused0024:

Agreed.....I liked the "old" layout better.

It never fails, someone gets bored and has to mess with something that works.

Wow, that really is different....me no like

My local shop sells everything at least 10% and up to 30% lower than Cabela's

Too many others out there that undercut the big machine. I have a store close by and ONLY go there to browse and check sizes etc. Not buying there or their onlin

Well, you know Cabelas price matches, right? So if you have a Cabelas close, just print something off the internet from a cheaper company and they honor the prices. I do it all the time with bass pro (Cabelas does it too) and usually save 15-20%. Obviously if its more convenient to shop at the other stores, then do that but I live about 5 minutes from Bass Pro so its really convenient for me.

Wow. I just checked it out, and I too don't care for it. Much preferred the old style.

Love the new layout for Cabelas. Its about time they changed it.

Sure is different, but seems easy to navigate. Don't have to wait for page after page to load to find what you're looking for.

Ya i dont like it either. I cant read the reviews on products, whats up with that?

MasterBlaster 09-29-2010 11:16 AM

i dont buy online unless i absolutely have to ever since they started adding sales taxes in Texas. So now you have to pay high prices, shipping and sales tax. No thanks!

Um i've been on cabelas and i've been reading a lot of product reviews so i don't know what's up with that.

Yes cabelas site is different but i'm sure everyone will get use to it eventually. As long as it shows all their products i'm fine with it then.

I went there yesterday and when I saw it I hit the refresh button. I thought I was still wrong while being on the website. Then I redid it again. It sucks big time.

I actually work for Cabelas, and rest assured, the site is a work in progress. It went fully live yesterday and there will be changes based on feedback.

Product reviews are still available, unless no one has written one, so that feature has not changed.

As for the comment regarding sales taxes in Texas. Everywhere there is a Cabelas store or distribution center, people must pay taxes in that state. Texas will soon have three Cabelas stores so unless your way out in west texas its kind of a give and take on that matter.

If you have the option of buying from cabelas, or paying the same price at another store you are better off purchasing at cabelas even if it is only for their customer service and return policy. If you buy cabelas gear, it is guarenteed for the life of the product. Returning a pair of hunting boots worn for several years at no cost to the customer is a normal thing there, because boots should last a while under normal wear and tear.

Just a little info/advice. Doesn't make any difference to me as Sometime I purchase items at Scheels which is 15 minutes away as opposed to going to Cabelas 45 mins away...

.
IDK either, i click on the reviews and nothing happens. Never had a problem till the change. Guess i just start going to bass pros site.

I certainly understand the law on it on the sales tax. I love the Cabelas store but the closest one to me is 5 hours away in Buda! So I do mostly online shopping. I do think their customer service and return policy is very good and reasonable/ fast. The prices do tend to be a touch higher which I did not mind so much.
I think the sales tax requirement is not fair to Cabelas. The orders I make are not shipped from Texas! So I buy from other online stores that I don’t have to pay sales tax on and sometimes get a slightly better price. I always check if there is a free shipping promotion or a $20 off for orders over 100 to make it close. If it is I will buy from Cabelas to help build my Cabelas Club Visa Points.
