Its called the K.I.S.S syndrom, Keep It Simple Stupid!! You said you hunt cut corn fields, baited stands, or sit in the woods on well used trails. What else is there to hunt?

i have a couple trails that have oak trees on them i dont have corn or beans on my land that i hunt . but I have some corn not too far from the land I hunt . so I guess what im saying is that I hunt the acorns .

Right now I'm hunting a powerline in between a standing cornfield and their bedding. Last night a saw 7 bucks. The biggest didn't go more than 110, but sooner or later a nice one will pop his head out.

What I am noticing is that now the a acorns are falling like a damn blizzard around here the deer movement is down. They don't need to move as much there is so many acorns on the ground! So with that said I'm gonna concentrate on the hardwoods(oaks)

The tactics start before the early season when you watch where the deer like. When the early season starts, go there.

Food sources, funnel areas and bedding. For the most part, these areas are pretty stable throughout the year and that is where the deer will remain around. |
