Default What do you carry hunting ?

What do you carry in to the woods with you when you're bowhunting?
Besides your bow,arrows, and release

I don't carry much. I carry my knife, my cell phone, a flashlight, water, TP, Wet paper towels in a baggie, grunt call, and I'll bring a sandwich depending on how long I'm going out for, but that's pretty much it.

How about you?
Is there something I should be taking that Im not or what?

Keep in mind that I hunt on private property and on properties/ local farms that I'm familiar with. So I don't see a need to bring compasses and other survival supplies.

I bring a book and either sunflour seeds or recies peices to munch on seeing as most of your scent comes from your mouth especially if your a smoker I feel its very important to mask your breath,

I carry way to much. When I pick up my backpack, I ask myself, Why?

Even if you're familiar with an area, a compass is a handy thing to have along. It makes tracking easier in the dark because you can keep yourself oriented a little easier if you get into any thick cover, and when I shoot something I take a quick bearing along the direction in which it ran in case it doesn't immediately leave a blood trail. Those landmarks that you note from your stand usually disappear once it gets dark.

i hunt on private property next to my buddies house, its not the biggest piece of property but its mine to hunt. If I get lost on it I really didn't make an effort to walk more than a couple hundred yards.

One screw in step

Smaller stuff too but to me they're insignificant
Stuff like:
Hoist rope
Small hooks
Cell phone
Wallet

i usually dont bring much. grunt call, cell phone, knife, maybe a drink and snack, however, was out yesterday with two buddies. we were spread out in about a 400 yard radius, none of us had any luck, however, when dark came, me and one of my buddies had to wait 30 minutes so that our other friend could leave his stand because he had two coyotes howlin up at him from below. too awkward angle to shoot with a bow so there was nothing he could do but wait. because of this i might start carrying some sort of pistol
