No less that 20', usually around 30'... It all depends on the terrain around me.

My hunting height varies throughout the season according to the terrain and the amount of foliage on the trees. I would guess my average would be 18 - 22'.

Early season when there is still a lot of foilage I hunt between 18 -25 feet up.
After the leaves fall, I go up another 5 feet. I beleive the higher you can go up the better chance you have of the wind currents displacing your odor.

Of the 5 sets I've got hung, the lowest is 18', the highest is 24', with the other three right at 20'. When I use my climber, if it's a good straight tree, I'll usually go up to 25'.

My stand this year is 26 feet up, but the trail I am hunting over is up on a incline so I am realistically only 15 above that. I was tempted to go higher but... I am going to see how this goes first. I should have the wind in my face most the time in that stand anyways and its a 30 yard shot to the back side of the trail.

It all depends on the amount of cover and expected range of my shots. Most of the areas that I hunt have heavy cover and since most are publicly owned, I'm unable to do a lot of lane clearing, etc. So I usually sit 15-20 feet up. If I went higher than that I wouldn't be able to get a shot (would be shooting through nearby tree canopies).
