Deer do not like the smell of rotten eggs.

Moth balls should work also.

How about having the farmer dump a big load of manure right by the stand?

I will just say there is more to this than just keeping a guy from seeing deer

As he and I have had a few go arounds and we are pretty sure he is the one that stole all the land owners ( his son ) treestands a few years back
As he was bragging about the cheap tree stands someone left for him

Not afraid of messing up the area
As the stand is on the very back edge of the land
And just getting to the area from my acess point would mean walking through the 2 bedding areas

Or a long canoe trip

As for doing anything to his stand
That is not going to happen

I may hate the guy , but I have some ethics

But I did get permission from the land owner to cross his land to spray some weeds and clean the ditch out
He is just against hunting , but is convinced the stand isn't doing any harm

So yesterday we sprayed the weeds along the property line and in a 50 yd radius around the stand .....with a mix of milk , eggs and hot pepper oil

Stayed away from the stand a few feet , as to not touch it

Yes I am being petty about this , but the land owner wanted to do more

If it were me, I would find some trees in the area to cut down for fire wood. In my experience the more you open up the area the less likely they are to use it because it is not as safe. I would make that area wide open.

I have used Irish spring bar soap. From what I heard the deer cant stand the smell so we picked up a case from sams club for a good price and drilled holes in some to hang from a fence and trees. We also took the bar and rubbed it up and down the bark about 4ft on all the trees in the area. When it rains it runs into the soil but the scent is still there.

We have some expensive areas that we hunt and the rich landowners have cant stand the deer eating thier landscaping.
