OK we had the question about who that you personally like to hunt with, so now I would like to know who you would least like to hunt with and why.

My least favorite at this time would have to be Dan and Guy Fitzgerald. Don' t get me wrong 20 years ago I would have jumped at the chance to hunt with Dan and Noel Feathers but now I feel that Dan has sold out to the almighty dollar and his show is one big beg fest to try and sale his line of crap. And Guy just annoys the crap out of me. [>:]

My Least Favorite to Hunt with would be BILL JORDAN from Realtree Outdoors.
Why?
Hunting tame deer in acre fences ins' t my thing. Especially when noone likes Bill anyway hahahaha [&:]

Actually I met Bill Jordan and well t.v. and videos about his personality can be decieving. There were a bunch of young hunters wanting autographs and he declined them all, that hurt me more than it hurt the kids.

I wouldn' t mind hunting with Miranda. At least he seems to have a good time, which is more than I can say for most of the other TV hunters I' ve watched.

I' d even hunt with Jackie Bushman' s crowd, just so I could show them what good shot selection and proper shot placement really looks like. It' s obvious that they don' t have a clue.

The only people I can think of that I' d not hunt with under any circumstances is an admitted poacher or someone that' s flat dangerous in the woods. Like the guy that invited me to go ' bush hunting' with him. When I asked what he meant, he said you see a bush move, shoot at it and see what falls out. [:@]

Bill Jordan along with all the other Realtree Pro-Staffers hunt entirelly 100% fair chase, free ranging whitetails. Absolutely no high fences. These deer are free to go where they want to. The deer just choose to stay in that area because they have food plots planted for them and very very little hunting pressure. No different than you planting a food plot on your property and not allowing anyone else to hunt it.

Now, back to the question, I would say Jackie Bushman and Alex Rutledge. Jackie Bushman is possibly the most boring person I have ever seen and Alex Rutledge, well, I just cant get over his right side of his lip constantly curling up while the other side is down, mix that with his " chipper" teeth, and that is the reason I wouldn' t hunt with him [>:][X(]:D

When you think about it the list is too long and everyone would be at the top but let me try: Brock Yates sounds like he has marbles in his mouth and I can barely understand what he is saying; Ralph and Vickie are muteable: Keith Warren whines and sings when he talks: The Babe moans and groans about everything and talks more than he hunts....I could go on forever instead, except for those guys and gals that have the camera right over their shoulder hunting in a free ranging fair chase situation I wouldn' t even want to have a conversation with these other so-called hunters let alone hunt with them.

No really there are several people here who scare me with the stories of some of their hunts... The guy who tries to thread his arrow thru the bushes.. But I don' t think he does it anymore. The guy who was bragging about..... Well.... it doesn' t matter, I hunt a small WMA near the Fl. state prison, and we all know each other, the game warden knows us and the wildlife biologist knows us. We laugh at each others lies... not mine, I don' t lie ( I got some mountain top property at the beach for sale!)


Any " PRO hunter" , I will not hunt with. let them come to where I hunt and they couldn' t shoot a thing. Except maybe the broad side of the barn... but they' d have to be inside it to do that!

there seems to be a lot of jealosy around here, a lot of people seem to have a problem with the realtree guys. Yea they get to hunt a lot of places that a lot of us would like to hunt but it wasn' t handed to them. Bill came up with a product that hunters wanted and made a lot of money which alowed him to hunt these places. Who among us would not hunt these places if we had the chance. Unless they do something unethical don' t begrudge them I myself like to see the big bucks on the videos and these guys don' t just go out and shoot a penned deer they spend a lot of hours on stands

Rodger Raglin, I used to like him until I found that he is a big time tame deer killer in high fences that are just a couple acres. No wonder they got " Close Enough To Kiss" . the other would be the Fitzgeralds, I grew up watching Dan hunt and Guy grow up, I was a huge fan until I met him at a hunting expo and he had no time for anyone except the ones buying his videos, which I already had[:@]

I know for a " Fact" that Realtree does hunt high tamed deer, I mean for 1. Who can shoot Boone n Crockett bucks left and right??????? 2. Realtree is so popular they don' t. " DON" T" have to pay for the hunting on gamefarms and ranches. Why: Because that promotes business for the game farm. " Yeah we had the Realtree Boys come and hunt out land." Commen SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although I understand these guys who hunt tamed and preserved deer need to have " big bucks" shot to thrill the viewer. But that does not mean thay can RUIN the meaning of hunting . . . Id like to see some PRO come out and hunt some Wisconsin Farmland and Cedar Swamps

The Realtree crew also hunts The Sanctuary in Michigan with ole Skipper Bettis...I' m pretty certain that if a high fence deal as well. I' ve seen video footage of Toxey and his gang up there too.

Brandon, Starting a few years ago, Team Realtree went to entirely 100% fair chase hunting. The Tecomate is not a high fenced ranch. All of these animals are free ranging.

Now, I could kill a 180" buck every year if I wanted to, just like Bill, David, and Michaell. I just don' t have the time and money.

The areas they hunt are private property that is just managed to grow big deer. If I had a couple thousand acres of land, the time, and the money to plant these food plots and manage the herd, I am sure I would have as much success as them.

If you don' t believe me, go to Realtree' s website and get on the forums. Michaell Waddel and John Tate have been on there a good bit lately. Ask them about it, heck, e-mail them and ask them about the areas they hunt.

We have 100 acres of corn soybeans oats and alfalpha. Along with streams and dense woods. Well You' ve got the food source, Well u got the bedding area, and well theres ur water resource. THis would be a hunters paradise the only thing missing is the 180 - 200 class bucks Realtree is taking. Their bucks are managed properly such as a 1-2 or average buck to doe ratio. I wouldn' t call this a hunt when the owner of the farm/ranch calls yah up and tells ol bill jordan they have a nice buck worth taking. My Uncle is a guide for Texas' s King Ranch. He has people who TRACK down, pinpoint travel routes and practically know the buck like the back of thier hand . . . Now who should be doing this, the guide or the hunter. Every hunter out there scouts his own terrain finding bucks, Team Realtree just hears about a buck and goes off and shoots it and calls it a day. You don' t see them scouting, unless its the day before and the guide and them sit and watch the buck. I mean Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [:@]

You just said it yourself, the dee are MANAGED!!! I can' t stress that enough. In order to have huge bucks (every buck has the chance of getting huge), you have to give them food, nutrtion, good habitat, age, and some sort of management. How do the Tecomate guys grow so many 170-180" deer, but letting so many 140-150" deer pass, which were the 110-130" deer the year before.

I will admit that none of us have the money, time, land, determination, and everything else it takes to grow bucks like that constantly, but, it isn' t the way alot of people see it. These guys aren' t put in a pen and told to shoot a deer.

As far as the scouting goes, if a farmer tells you that he has seen a nice 10 point feeding in the south west corner of his alfalfa field every night from " time A" to " time B" and where the deer is comming from, are you going to hunt there? This would be help and the hunter should do everything? Correct?

I am not trying to be rude, just stating my opinion. It isn' t just a walk in the park for these guys. They just simply have the odds stacked in their favor. Most people bash them out of jealousy, and, as I will admit, I am INCREDIBLY jealous of them, I will not bash them. These are just your regular guys who took a dream (that most of us have) and turned it into reality. They are doing nothing but helping our sport out, and in my book, that is enough to get my respect right there.

I have yet to throw in my .02 on this deal, but I do have a question for Brandon.

Just where are these 180-200" bucks that realtree kills? To the best of my knowledge, they have never killed a 180 buck. They sure have not killed any 200" deer.

I have personally met many of the hunting video team guys out there today, some of them several times, but have yet to meet Bill Jordan.

Not meeting him, it would be hard to say he is a good guy, except for one little thing.

Groups like realtree that are trying to make a living from producing videos need to hunt alot, in many different locals to get the footage needed. They obviously don`t have time to personally scout every place they hunt.

Heres a good example.....I have a farm in Pike Co, Illinois that has huge bucks on it. Thats a fact. Now, lets say I was to invite you to come and bowhunt with me. Since you were never there before I suggest to you where to hang a stand, or better yet, take you to one of mine that is already hung.

How bad are you gonna feel when you shoot one of those big bucks? Would that make you less of a hunter? I think not! You still had to be scent free, be still, maintain your composure when one of those big boys came in.

If you have that good habitat in Wi. you can have monster bucks of your own. And in a very short time. Stop shooting young bucks, kill more does. In three years you will see huge bucks, and lots of them. Lord knows Wisconsin has the genetics to do it.

Why should one person care so much about what other hunters do as long as it is legal?

Truth is that now, Realtree is 100% free ranging fair chase hunting. Were they in the past? I don' t know, but it doesn' t matter. They are hunters just like us. They promote our sport and help to bring new people in to the sport. That is enough to gain all my respect.

Too many people are in this " my hunting is the best/only way and all others who don' t do it my way are bad" mindset. Lets face it, there are many different ways to hunt, many different weapons, many different tools, many different places, ect.. but as long as someone is doing everything legal, who are we to judge them?

Fighting about what method of hunting is better, what weapon is better, ect... does nothing good for the sport. It divides hunters, which makes it easier for anti' s to start getting there way.

Lets see, take rifle hunters, muzzleloader hunters, crossbow hunters, traditional archers, and compound archers and put them all in a group and have anti' s take them on. It is going to be a VERY tough battle, but, divide them up, and the anti' s will start picking off the smaller groups and keep growing until they have hunting stopped.

Grow up and face it, we need to stick together in order for hunting to survive. It isn' t 1890 and we don' t absolutely need to hunt. It isn' t something vital to our survival. This leads to attacks from anti' s and I would much rather have all hunters united than have little groups trying to take on these anti' s.
