RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
Does anyone know why Bill Jordan replaced Steve Bartkowski with Michael Waddell ?
I have often wondered this over the years. I liked Steve much better personally as did my hunting friends. No offense to Michael Waddell fans. :) Michael is much better today than when he first started. He had zero personality when he first started. I still wish they would have kept Steve instead as he had a great personality. Maybe Steve stole too much limelight from Bill. Would be interesting to finally learn why Steve was dropped. Sag. |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
Saw the program tonight. Michael arrowed a great New Mexico bull elk. I like the format of the show. Especially like how excited he gets. I smiled and chuckled throughout the whole thing. I' ll definately tune in again.
|
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
I saw it last night and I really liked it. The format is more like the hunting experience. Michael is a funny guy and had some qoutes that crack me up! Plus the hunt was exceptional.

RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell

RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
Fellas
I catch Realtree Roadtrips here in NJ, on Sunday nights about 9 or 10pm. Lst night he was elk hunting in the Gila Mountains of New Mexico. Great Show!!!! |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
One of the better shows to hit the outdoor channels..It is a " reality" program that shows all the footage that would normally be left out. I like when the guys sit down and enjoy some steaks from the kill.
|
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
Micheal Waddell is one of my favorite hunters to watch. He seems like a fun guy to hunt with. I watch his new show " Realtree Roadtrips" every Sunday night on the Outdoor Channel.
|
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
I really like this show. It seems like Waddell is the real deal. It' s cool to see all the behind the scenes stuff. I hope this one hangs around for a while.

RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
i believe steve barkowski had his own show for a while and faded away from what i remember.wadell i believe was just a camera man for ole billy boy. you know the story! bill had his fill of bucks for the particular shoot that week so he allowed wadell a chance to shoot and the rest is history. they do that on the bass fishing shows all the time. they let the camera man have some fun. 10 years ago i would watch and can appreciate what they did but times are changing and they are just not as interesting. same hunts same stands yadda yadda yadda. i had the pleasure to meet bill jordan back in the day and he told me that they send out there crews in july to put up the stands. maybe michael wadell will try to keep things real.

RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
caught it Sunday night good show he seems honest
not like some that have those shows!!:D |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
I like Michael a lot!! I think he would be great to have in hunting camp. The hunt was awesome and it got me fired up to go to Colorado this fall.I bowhunted the Gila four years ago and I could of swore it was no motorized vehicles allowed. We couldn' t even have a generator in camp.
|
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
I too think that the show is great! Like stated before I think Mr. Waddell is a very down to earth person, and would be a hoot to have in camp. I will be tuning in every chance I get.
|
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell

RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
This is an old post from earlier, but I thought I would throw in my $00.02 and say that I thought it was a great shot and a great show. I like the way they cover more of the hunt and the steaks afterwards.
I would like to see them skin the whole animal out on TV to see how they quarter an elk! |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
Haven' t seen it yet, but I' m looking foward to it. Waddell is a hoot. I love his " Yeah baby!" and " That' s what I' m talking about" lines. I also think he' s a great shot. Why was he the replacement? My first guess is that Realtree wanted to grab a younger generation of shooters - just a guess though.

RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
I think Waddells show is on the Thursday night " hunting block" of shows as well as the Sunday night reair. Waddell has come into his own. His show is already the #3 ranked show on the Outdoor Channel. It will only go higher. His enthusiasm and " down to earthness" is what folks seem to like the most and that is what sponsors are willing to pay for. He acts like a lucky kid who realizes where he is and the opportunity he has. He doesnt have that " LOOK AT ME I' M JOE BOB PROHUNTER, YOU PISS-ON COMMONERS BOWDOWN AT MY FEET I AM A PROFESSIONAL" attitude that so many slapnuts get after they have been " in the biz" for a few years.
He will be a GIANT in the industry before his time is up if he keeps his head on straight! RA |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
I have really liked Micheal Waddell for a while now, and I have been watching the Road Trips show every week now and really think that it is a great show, but man my respect for him went off the charts after last weeks show. If you didn' t see it, there was a little boy that has cancer and he is a Realtree fanatic. His parents said that his dream was to meet the Realtree guys. Well meet them he did. They brought he and his parents down to the Realtree headquarters for 4 days. They gave him a tour of the facilities, hung out with him and took him on a turkey hunt , and fishing. They were all great with this little guy, but Waddell just went the extra mile. You could tell that he sincerely wanted to make sure that the 4 days would be the best that this little guy ever had. The two of them really bonded. You could see that it was a genuine act of love on Waddells part, not just a show for the cameras. It was an incredible show. Hopefully all of you were able to see it. It was one of those reality checks that we all need from time to time. I would love to be able to shake Michael Waddell' s hand and thank him for his graciousness to this little boy and for making his dream come true. He has a big fan here!

RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell

|
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
A close quote from Michael, " Horns aren' t the only trophy on an Elk!" He says this as he' s cooking Elk on the grill.:D Makes my mouth water just watching it!:):):)
You bet I' m jealous! Way to go Michael!:D |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
Caught the bowfishing episode yesterday. Loved the show. I really like the aspects of it. And thought bowfishing looks like a fun sports to take up.

I think I will be there Saturday anyway, may just have to check it out. |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
I have a question.
Isn' t Waddell still on with Bill Jordan' s Realtree Outdoors on TNN (or SPIKE as they wish to call it)? I' ve been watching for a couple of weeks now and thought I saw his name. Thanks. Mike |
RE: Realtree Roadtrips with Michael Waddell
humm suspicious. any realtree employees out there? And to Taxman, I believe Michael is still part of the Realtree group. Hey Michael, or Bill, If you guys need a semi-normal guy, that you want to pay to hunt all year long...I guess I could do it. Just let me know.;) |
