Best Fletching Jig?
I am looking to buy a fletching jig so that I can begin fletching my own arrows. What fletching jig would be the best for me? I plan on using helical fletching. I' ve heard good things about the Bitzenberger, but it does have the disadvantage of glueing only one feather or vane at a time. I' ve also looked at a Cabela' s jig that looks similar to the Bitzenberger but holds three feathers at a time. The Arizona EZ fletch also holds all three feathers at the same time. These two jigs may get the job done much faster, but do they do as good a job as the Bitzenberger? Are they less precise?
I guess what is most important to me is to find a fletching jig that can be used to fletch helical feathers and do it very accurately and precisely every time. ANY SUGGESTIONS? Does anyone have experience with any of the aforementioned fletching jigs? |
RE: Best Fletching Jig?
How do you spell precise fletching, BITZENBURGER !! I own 1 1/2 doz. jigs, so in one hour I can make alot. I dont think there is anything better for connecting a feather or vane to a shaft. JMHO

RE: Best Fletching Jig?
I asked this question before and almost everyone said the bitzenberger but i decided to go with the grayling just to try it because it was a little cheaper, usually i just get the quality product but i figured what the heck and just wanted to try it and it works great.

Yooper: Not all fun things in life need to be rushed.;) Reminds me of a story of 2 bull elk. 1 old and 1 young standing on top of a hill looking down at a herd of cows.:D I use a grayling. One at a time.[:-]
